The two biggest service provider are FlixBus and RegioJet, it takes 2 hours 45 minutes to get there. You only have to decide which one to travel by! It is the best and easiest way to buy your tickets online, from 9 euros, though I have never got any ticket under 15 euros. It is worth going back to the webpage many times as ticket prices may change! You’d better be prepared of the significant delays of the buses that may arise. You can ask for a departure and arrival guarantee at RegioJet for 4 euros per person, it will be helpful in case you miss your flight because of the delay of the bus. Read the exact conditions on the webpage of the company.

FlixBus – From Budapest to Vienna by bus

FlixBus is the biggest coach service in Europe! The route from Budapest to Vienna by bus contains many stops in both cities and you can even get on at the airport!  Coaches leave from Népliget stop in Budapest and the next stop is Kelenföld railway station where you can get on. In my experience, wherever you get on, it doesn’t change the ticket price. It’s a bit hard to find the FlixBus stop at Kelenföld so I suggest to arrive there a bit earlier.
