Budapest is the capital city of Hungary and each year it attracts millions of tourists that are excited to explore the enticing and beautiful streets of the city. This city that proudly stands as the capital of Hungary is widely thought of as the amazing “Paris of the East”. It is one of the most culturally, traditionally and historically significant metropolises in all of Eastern Europe. The city of Budapest is home to a large number of UNESCO World Heritage Sites that are the main sources of tourist attraction. One of the main attractions of the city, however, stands to be its many thermal baths that offer the therapeutic experience of natural mineral enriched thermal waters.

One of these countless thermal baths of the city of Budapest is the Romai bath. The Romai Thermal Bath Complex happens to be one of the most popular and well-known baths to be found in the city of Budapest, Hungary. Romai has been a well-known water source since the ancient Roman age. This open-air bath complex that houses different thermal swimming pools is located in Csillaghegy, in the 3rd district of Budapest. The exact street address of Romai Bath is Rozgonyi Piroska u. 2., Budapest 1031.

The district that lies in the context of these thermal springs was, back then, considered sacred and archaeologists have even interestingly discovered that the base walls of a sanctuary lie here on the site of Romai. The most recent archaeological diggings have also revealed some traces of catchment and details of constructions that are relevant to the archaeological assessment that is in progress.

During 1930 the joint-stock company that went by the Hungarian name of “Római Fürdő Rt.” was founded. They refurbished the bath and this thermal bath and spa was hence re-opened for the public in 1964. Amazingly enough it has preserved its original architectural structure ever since then. Later on, in 2000, three pools of this open-air thermal bath complex were modernized and the pools were made to be properly equipped with water filtration-recirculation devices and motors. The open-air pool was transformed into a fancy pool that consists of amazing and fun slides, neck showers and bubble bath. Furthermore, the children’s pool became a unique and fun playing paradise. The Romai thermal bath complex is one of the most enchanting bath complexes in Budapest. It is mostly popular amongst young people and families that visit and enjoy the thermal water here at Romai. It also includes a relaxing sauna and a therapeutic steam cabin along with many other catering facilities for its guests.
