This festival is an extravaganza and people participate with great pride and bring their finest and oldest wine. Local wineries and bars also accept the challenge and take part in this event by presenting their best wine from the cellars. The wine festival is not just for the jury to judge and announce the winner but locals and tourists also come and get a chance to taste the variety of wine that is being presented. The Budapest wine festival offers a great experience for those who are interested in learning about how wine is made (which is an art of its own), meeting different winemakers, and sampling various kinds of local Hungarian wine.
